Cashlite report: Are we there yet? Rethinking the evolution of electronic payments in Kenya


This report examines data from Financial Diaries studies conducted in both Kenya and South Africa in 2012 and 2013 to better understand the extent to which low-income consumers are being affected by broad trends towards the digitization of payments: through card payments in an increasingly banked population in South Africa and via mobile money in Kenya.
