Credit market development

Credit insurance or guarantees encourage lending to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by reducing risk for lenders, improving credit information available to lenders, and improving risk monitoring and management. FSD has long supported the development of a fully functional credit market in Kenya, working in partnership with Industry and Government, represented by the Kenya Bankers Association and the Central Bank of Kenya amongst others. We are working to complete the development of credit market infrastructure in Kenya, increase knowledge of the credit market and the benefits of credit information sharing, and boost the capacity of the financial industry to use the infrastructure.
